The University of San Carlos Office of Research is tasked with the overall coordination of research in the University and the pursuit of the institutional researches. The CHED USC Zonal Research Center is currently attached to this office.

In regard to academic research, the Office in consultation with the University Research Council recommends research for funding by the University. Also, the Office recommends to the Office of the University President the approval of externally-funded contract researches. Pursuant to these roles, the Office of Research coordinates and monitors the University's research centers and academic research units
